The author speaks of "unsre christlich theilnehmenden deutschen Brüder jenseit des Atlantischen Meeres, (... namentlich in Guilford County und an der Abbots-Creek) ..." evidently referring to German settlers in Guilford County, North Carolina, to whom the letter may be addressed.
