"... the then unknown author of it; whom I find to be a deceased gentle-woman (formerly the religious consort of the Reverend Mr. Moses Fiske ..."--The publisher to the reader, pages [2], signed: J.B. [id est, Joseph Baxter of Medfield, Mass.]. Erroneously attributed by Evans to Ann (Shepard) Quincy Fiske, Moses Fiske's second wife, who died in 1708. It was evidently written by Sarah (Symmes) Fiske, Fiske's first wife, who died in 1692.
