Notes:
Evans attributes this almanac to David Rittenhouse, and is confirmed through comparison with the Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania almanack and ephemeris for 1780 (Baltimore), calculated by Rittenhouse. All calculations for the sun and moon, and those in the monthly ephemeris, are duplicated throughout. Some of the astronomical notes on the calendar pages have been omitted in the present almanac, and a few others added; the rest are identical, except that some of their calculations have been adjusted. The calculations on the eclipse page are an adjusted version.
The copy of the Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania almanack examined is that in the Darlington Library of the University of Pittsburgh. The supposed copy in the Maryland Historical Society, lacking a title page, appears to be in fact a copy of the Continental almanac. Cf. Wheeler, J. The Maryland Press, 1938, pages 98.
Title vignette. The Anatomy is the only other illustration.
