- Attributed to Benjamin West by Evans and in Bates, A.C. "Check list of Connecticut almanacs, 1709-1850." Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society, n.s. volume 24 (1914): 102, 129. But the apparent calculator is Nathan Daboll. The calculations on the calendar pages, except in the tides column and a few for the moon, are identical with those in The New England almanack for 1784 (New London), calculated by Daboll under the pseudonym of Edmund Freebetter. The eclipse calculations are also identical, as are the astronomical and horological notes on the calendar pages, except that a few of these are omitted in Bickerstaff.
