The ms., which represents the repertoire of the Devotio Moderna (= Modern Devotion) religious movement in the Netherlands from the late 15th into the 16th century, "contains predominantly Latin songs for one to three voices, as well as three Dutch Christmas carols for two voices.... The monophonic Latin songs include liturgical and other religious songs; the polyphonic songs comprise predominantly Latin Christmas carols, many of which were widely transmitted during the late Middle Ages"--P. viii.
The ms. also includes a treatise about psalmody, a meditation method, and a list containing the names of several of the movement's members.
