Summary:
Dramatic work about a young girl called "Laylá" who participated in demonstrations. Her father punished her after she came home from the demonstrations. Her brother "Maḥmūd" was a member of a secret group that killed British soldiers. Maḥmūd's friend "Ḥusayn" liked "Laylá" but he couldn't tell her. In January 1952, the authorities arrested Maḥmūd and Ḥusayn. After the revolution in 1952 all political prisoners were freed. Ḥusayn traveled to Germany to complete his studies. "Laylá" joined the Faculty of Arts and met a professor called "Fuʼād" who proposed to her but he was selfish and didn't care about her feelings. Ḥusayn came back to Egypt and joined the army to fight Egypt enemies in 1956. At the end Laylá broke her engagement and came back to Ḥusayn and joined the army.
