Each volume consists of a series of 36 maxims written by the artist, commercially-woven into cloth ribbon; mounted on a cardboard spool; issued in a box.

"This volume ... mimics a spool of ribbon from a sewing shop. The maxims ... are woven, not printed, on a computerized loom. The letters are red on a white ground, with reverse tones on the verso. The ribbon scroll has two joins ... The typeface is san-serif ... but the upper-case initial letter of the first word of each phrase is in a Roman type approaching Palatino ... The maxims are heartfelt opinions ... Spool title printed at Stamperia Valdonega of Verona on acid-free cardstock ... Ribbon woven in Carpi ...
