- Summary:
- When the history of twentieth century Christianity is written Trevor Huddleston will occupy much space. A leader in the battle against Apartheid in South Africa, his 1956 book Naught for Your Comfort changed the perception of liberal Westerners about what was really going on there. Huddleston was an Anglican monk who was called back from South Africa to the UK at the height of powers. He was made Bishop of Stepney in London but suffered greatly after accusations of sexual impropriety. Huddleston eventually returned to South Africa but never received the recognition he thought he deserved.
