- Summary:
- This volume celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Center for Mexican Studies at the University of Antwerp. A dozen antique maps of Mexico preserved in various collections, but mostly in the university's central library, are reproduced here in full color along with descriptions of their historical and cartographical significance. The oldest, dating from 1561, is taken from Girolamo Ruselli's Latin translation of Ptolemy's Geographia, and the most recent map is from the Carta general del Imperio Mexicaino, printed in 1865 under the short-lived regime of Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg.
