- Summary:
- The former touring actor-manager, Petr Chardynin, made an early name for himself and gave Russian cinema a distinctly cultured orientation with Pushkin adaptations like The Queen of Spades (1910) and The House In Kolomna (1913). In the latter Chardynin's protege Mozzhukhin played both a dashing officer and a farcical cook in drag.

- One of a ten volume video anthology from the collection of Gosfilmofond. Video transfers supplied by the British Film Institute. Restoration programme led by Yuri Tsivian in partnership with the Central Film Museum, Moscow.
- Videocassette release of two silent films, with musical accompaniment added, produced in 1910 and 1913.
