- In 1925 a young women (Scott-Thomas) arrives at a military outpost on the Bulgarian/Romanian frontier with her army officer husband and their children. Ultimately, she and her husband are thrown into conflict as he is ordered by his superiors to execute a local group of bandits that may or may not be guilty. A cultured family in the middle of a brutal culture clash between the old world and the new.
