Summary:
Before World War II, every civilized country had a cavalry. It was in the cavalry that much of the horse knowledge was preserved and passed on to the next generation. The loss of the cavalry lead to the loss of a great deal of that knowledge. The result has been a few generations of riders who were never exposed to that body of information. The author has been fortunate to study under a trainer who has been exposed to this knowledge. The result is a book that has many answers to be found nowhere else.
All of the competitive books use the same core thinking that is found in "What Your Horse Wants You To Know: listen to what the horse is saying by observing his body language. All of these books cover the whole area and philosophy of horse training. Most of the training methods advocated in these books are preventive. However, there are times when the very depth and complexity of these books make them difficult to work from.
