Contains 25 poems by Pound and 6 poems by Hulme.
"The Complete Poetical Works of T. E. Hulme" with a prefatory note by Ezra Pound in which he uses the word "Imagiste" for the first time: p. 58-[64].
Publisher's advertisements printed in red and black: [32] p. at end.
The publisher's advertisements were cut out in some presentation copies distributed after the failure of the company.
A few weeks after the publication of "Ripostes" the firm Swift & Co. collapsed. Elkin Mathews took over the remaining copies and in May 1913 issued a composite volume of "Canzoni & Ripostes of Ezra Pound" and in April 1915 "Ripostes" by itself.
Gray streaked cloth boards lettered and ruled in gilt on front cover.
