- Summary:
- Varlam Aravidze, the former mayor of a provincial Georgian town, has died and at his funeral is mourned ostentatiously. One woman, however, refuses to let him rest in peace. Night after night, Ketevan Barateli exhumes the body and leaves it in the Aravidze family garden. Once arrested, she uses her trial to force the family and the townspeople to confront and acknowledge the horrors of his regime.
