- First published in 1915 with a total of two hundred fourteen poems. An additional thirty-one epitaphs and "The Epilogue" were published in the 1916 augmented edition.
- Black cloth boards with 1916 Macmillan binding. "Macmillan" lettered in gilt at foot of spine. Front cover has title, author and illustrator printed in black upon a gilt decorated panel. Top edge gilt stained.
