- The Zapruder film has been described as "the most significant amateur recording of a news event in history." This 27-second "home movie" of the Kennedy assassination is often claimed to be bedrock fact, against which all theories of the assassination must be judged. Yet from the beginning disturbing questions have been raised. The Zapruder movie contradicts eyewitness evidence, photographic evidence, medical evidence, and ballistics evidence. The events depicted in the film even contradict the laws of physics.
