- " ... this edition was a forgery, perpetrated by Thomas J. Wise and Henry Buxton Forman. Certain kernless letters in the font in which it is printed were not cut for the printer Richard Clay and Sons until 1880; the paper, esparto with a trace of chemical wood, was not available till 1883; and the text incorporates a substitution of 'Of hugs and praises' for the original 'Of songs and praise', which was introduced in an erratum but not incorporated into the text till the poem appeared within the requisite volume of the Cabinet Edition published in 1879."--Cf. - 'Facsimile' edition of the forgery, 'B' ('1869' [1920s])
- Greenish blue wrappers; outside front wrapper within single rule border with decorative fleurs de lys at the corners, lettering in black as on t.p.
- Edition 'B' differs from A in the following ways: the half-title follows the t.p.; the corners of the border on the front wrapper have fleurs de lys; p. 6, line 5: far-offstream; p. 7, 3rd line from bottom: sawing; p. 10, line 7: wither.--Cf. Baker & Ross.
