Summary:
Not only are obnoxious behaviors inevitable, they are frequent and apparently becoming more so. People seem to be increasingly dissatisfied and ever readier to complain. Since the 1960s people seem to have become less concerned about the feelings of others. Thus they are less hesitant than earlier to engage in malicious teasing or to behave in ways that make others feel inferior. If surveys are any indication, instances of betrayal and lying are also on the rise.

The offensive side of social interaction
Complaining
