Chancery folio, printed in double columns. Leaf A4r: 51 lines of commentary, plus headline; area of text: 202 (206) x 146 mm.; col. width: 71 mm. Intial spaces, some with guide-letters. With signatures; without foliation and catchwords. Woodcut illustration on leaf A1r depicting a seated Albertus Magnus holding a book and lecturing to six students, including Saint Thomas Aquinas; with leafwork on each side.
Local Notes:
Rubrication: some paragraph marks, capital strokes, and underlines supplied by a reader in red ink.
Leaf size: 285 x 205 mm.
Copious early ms. annotations in Latin in at least two hands (possibly Christophorus and Martin Heinsius) through the first part (quire P5) in red and black ink with fists, underlines, and markings.
With the autographs of M. (Martin?) Heinsius and Christophorus Heinsius at lower margin of front pastedown.
Binding: contemporary full vellum over wooden boards; blind stamped panels with tooling and arabesques; four raised bands on spine; with bronze clasps. Housed in a case.
