Most recently, she won the Agatha for Storm Track (Mysterious Press, 2000).* Margaret Maron grew up near Raleigh, North Carolina, but for many years lived in Brooklyn, New York; Naples, Italy; and Washington, D.C. When she eventually returned to her North Carolina roots, she began thinking about a series based on her background and created the award-winning Deborah Knott series.
