Notes:
Ostensibly "sonnets which Gerald Musgrave composed (or, more strictly speaking, paraphrased) during the course of his journeying toward Antan"--Editorial note.
"Of this book seven hundred and eighteen copies, of which six hundred and seventy-six are for sale, have been printed at The Grabhorn Press, in April, 1929. Distributed in America by Random House, and in Great Britain by Grant Richards and Humphrey Toulmin at the Cayme Press, Ltd. Portrait by William H. Cotton. Each copy signed by the author. This is copy number [blank]"--Colophon.
"Quotation, last line, decoration on title page, five initials, printer's device (N) below colophon, and borders around headings printed in orange. Headpiece portrait by William H. Cotton. Type Lutetia, handset; paper Glaslan. Bound in gray decorated boards with gray cloth back; gray label printed in black and gold on back ... With the exception of the burlesque portrait of James Branch Cabell, all the decorations and initials were made by the printers out of very thin strips of brass technically called 'rule.' The original colophon page was cancelled and a new one inserted because the publishers altered their arrangements for the book's distribution."--Heller.
Deckled edges, fore- and tail edges untrimmed.
