- David Gold returns to the home of his parents in Babylon, Long Island after having failed as a Hollywood director. He meets up with an old high school classmate, Judy Berlin who is about to set off for California and has dreams of making it big as an actress. The two of them spend the day walking around Babylon during a total solar eclipse revisiting the past and wondering about the future and their families and friends.
