Summary:
Collection of culinary recipes in 2 volumes, the first with no dates or attribution, in one hand; the second continued in the same hand, dated 1867 and inscribed Mrs. U. S[?] Cameron. Second volume is continued in several additional hands, with a recipe for mincemeat dated Christmas 1879. Includes recipes for biscuits, puddings, custards, soups, mutton, veal, beef, hare, potatoes, beets, Madras curry, lobster salad, cakes, preserves, beer and cowslip wine; with a few medicinal and household recipes included. Recipes are attributed to individuals with the surnames Hill, Rawlinson, Parsons, Thomas, Hale, Cotesworth, Tindal, Collins, Holingworth, and C. Smith (1st volume); some of these plus Lightfoot, Channel, Richards, Lady Seton, DelaRue, Appleby, Watts, Nurton, and Coombes (2d volume).
