- Summary:
- Letters to Burt from editors of newspapers, magazines, and books; from fellow writers, including authors of books that Burt reviewed; and from elected representatives and other governmental officials. Recurring topics include Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where Katharine and Struthers Burt had a ranch; the relationship between editor Maxwell Perkins and author Thomas Wolfe, about which Burt published an essay in 1951; and the politics of the times, including McCarthyism, World War II, and the Truman-Dewey presidential election.
