Summary:
This book contains chapters that describe the currentpsycholinguistic research being conducted internationally on betterunderstanding second language (L2) writing. Such accounts are based onan experimental research tradition arising from recent progress madein methodology, technology and theory in both native and secondlanguage writing. There have been a number of recent volumes on theeducational aspects of teaching a foreign or second language. However, there are relatively few published studies specifically geared tobetter understanding L2 writing and how it relates to L1 writingresearch in the psycholinguistic tradition. This tradition combinesconverging evidence from psychological experiments, case studies, linguistic interviews, field studies, correlation and other structuralanalyses of individual differences. The goal of all of these sourcesof evidence is to describe, predict, and ultimately explain L2writing.
