Summary:
Conceived and designed in its entirety by Ettore Sottsass, this book is at once an homage to the designer's artistic experiences and an interesting reinterpretation of them, through evocative photographs taken by the author himself. The photographs and graphic materials, all from the period between 1968 and 1976--never previously published--have been assembled by the author himslef and arranged in a dramatic dialogue with his past and his memory. A private journal and at the same time a story told in pictures, this book reveals the complex cultural and visual roots of Sottsass's work as well as offering us a glimpse into his mental and creative processes. Ettore Sottsass was born in Austria in 1917. He was a design consultant for Olivetti for over 30 years.
