The text of this translation (v.1-2) is the same as that of the Paris editions, which were abridged and adapted by the abbé Pierre François Guyot Desfontaines.--cf. Teerink.

V. 3 is a translation of "Travels into several remote nations of the world ... Vol. iii", a spurious continuation of Swift's work; itself largely adapted from "The history of the Sevarites or Sevarambi", 2 pts., 1675-79; of which pt.1 is certainly & pt.2 possibly by Denis Vairasse.

"Observations sur les voyages de Lemuel Gulliver adressées a Monsieur Swift" v.3, p. [171]-238, are addressed to Monsieur le Doien and signed: Corolini di Marco.
