- Part 1 colophon reads: Enprynted at westmynster by wyllyam Caxton the laste day of Iuyn anno domini M CCCC Lxxxiij.
- "Quattuor sermones" has separate register; text begins "[T3]He mayster of sentence in the second book and the first distynction, sayth that the souerayn cause, why god made al creatures in heuen erthe or water, was his oune goodnes ..". The text is "an expanded paraphrase of a mid-fourteenth century Yorkshire devotional compendium known as the 'Lay folks' catechism' or 'Sermon of Dan John Gaytryge'" (Needham, p. 67).
- There are two editions of part 2: text begins (1) as above, or (2) with "booc .. dystynction .. henen [sic]". Needham (p. 67-8) believes edition 1 was first printed as a separate in late 1482 to early 1483, and was later issued with the "Liber festivalis". The second edition was printed in 1487, apparently for issue with the remaining copies of the other part. For further distinctions between the two editions see "Essays in honour of Victor Scholderer", p. 407-25.
