- "Inger Lawrence cut all the images on wood ... Kevin Crossley-Holland prepared the text from the Anglo-Saxon ... first published in 'The Anglo-Saxon world' published by Boydell & Brewer. Nicolas McDowall hand-set the Albertus types and completed the printing of the book in June 1988 at The Old Stile Press, Catchmays Court, Llandogo, nr Monmouth, Gwent ... The paper is Zerkall Silurian. The binding is by The Fine Bindery, Wellingborough. The edition consists of 240 copies, numbered and signed by writer and artist. This is number [blank]"--Colophon.

Printed, from the wood, on one side of the sheet only, folded and stitched in the Japanese manner. Bound by The Fine Bindery. The book is laced into buff coloured printed card covers, with a black ribbon, and is contained in a portfolio of limp jute, lined with blue buckram and laced with ties of bookbinder's tape."--Harrop.
