"This poem in terza rima, divided into three books, recounts the exploits of the condottier Niccolò Piccinino (died 1444) and his sons Francesco and Giacomo. The text begins on 5a but is preceded on 3b-4b by the chapter describing the end of Giacomo's career in 1465; this chapter, called 'Cap. i' by the printer, should really conclude the whole narrative."--BM 15th cent.

Chancery folio, printed in double columns. Leaf a1r: 62 lines to a full column, plus headline; area of text: 227 (235) x 133 mm.; col. width: 61 mm. Initial spaces, most with guide letters; spaces for paragraph marks. With signatures; without foliation or catchwords. Register on leaf o6r.
Signatures: pi⁴ a-o⁶ (leaf pi1 blank).
Explicit on leaf o6r reads: Qui finisscie il libro chiamato altro marte composto escripto per mano de me Lore[n]zo Spirito da peroscia abatiste de Ranaldo daperoscia finito adi doi de aprile mille quattro ce[n]to Seta[n]ta.
