- Originally published about 1901 in an edition of 50 copies, with title: California in '41. Texas in '51. Memoirs, by Nicholas Dawson. The writing of the narrative was commenced in 1894, fifty-three years after the occurrence of some of the events related, and the latest date noted in the text in 1901.
- "Title and caption titles printed in red and black; nine colored illustrations. Type Goudy Modern, handset; paper Van Gelder. Bound in brown illustrated boards with tan cloth back; front & back covers lettered in black; brown label printed in black on back. Five hundred copies printed for direct sale in May 1933."--Heller.
- Deckled edges; fore- and tail edges untrimmed.
