- Summary:
- First volume of Marghinānī's commentary on his own Bidāyat al-mubtadiʼ, a treatise on Ḥanafī law, comprising Kitāb al-Ṭahārah to Kitāb al-Waqf. A leaf is missing between f. 1 and 2 and the copy has several inserted leaves of differing sizes.

- Foliation: Contemporary foliation in Hindu-Arabic numerals in ink upper left recto; catchwords every verso, lower left; some have been pasted over.
- Layout: Written in 19 long lines; extensive marginalia.
- Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed.
- Decoration: Rubrications in red.
- Binding: Red corduroy textile over cardboard sides with marbled paper doublure; three pieces of red corduroy laid in that at one time formed a fore-edge envelope flap and attached on the front cover with three buttons.
- Origin: The copy is undated, but was perhaps produced in the 18th century.
