Whitman's poem "Come, lovely and soothing death", lyric from "When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom'd", here entitled "Euthanasia", and with variations in punctuation and capitalization, is translated into Greek anapaestic form by J.I. Beare, having the title "Ω ΓΛΥΚΥΣ ΑΙΔΑΣ ΕΥΝΑΣΟΝ Μ ΕΥΝΑΣΟΝ." ("O sweet death, rest me, rest me").
