- Summary:
- Ranu is a young girl who belongs to an orthodox rural Bengali Brahmin family. She is very good at studies but her poor parents cannot afford to pay for her education. They want to get her married but Ranu does not want to. Matters get worse when people talk of her frienship with Lulu, a poor servant boy. How the family forces the marriage is the backdrop of this drama.
