Chronologically the fourth of the five volumes of Aristotle issued by Aldo Manuzio, but considered by him to form the third.
Signatures: [Maltese cross]² 3a[alpha]-3i[iota]⁸ 3[kappa]⁸ 3l[lambda]-3z[psi]⁸ 3&[omega]⁸ 3[Alpha]-3[Beta]⁸ 3C[Gamma]⁸ 3D[Delta]¹⁰; 3[Alpha]a-3[Mu]m⁸ 3[Nu]n-3[Xi]o¹⁰ [alpha]a-[delta]d⁸ [epsilon]e¹⁰ a[alpha]-b[beta]⁶ 3A[alpha]-3O[xi]⁸ 3P[omicron]¹⁰ ([Maltese cross]2 blank).
In some copies, the first leaf is signed with a Maltese cross; in others, the first leaf is unsigned. Some copies have a conjugate blank leaf bound immediately after the first leaf or wrapped around the first gathering and positioned after leaf 3a[alpha]8; other copies are wanting the blank.
Errors in foliation: 15, 169 (3rd count), 98, 106, 114 (4th count), 103 (7th count) misnumbered 11, 158, 89, 104, 108, 108 respectively.
Super-chancery folio. Area of text: 218 (229) x 130 mm. 30 lines, plus head-line, to a full page. With signatures, foliation and catchwords. Rubrication not called for.
Frequently bound in two vols., divided after leaf 3D[Delta]10.
