- Chancery folio, text surrounded by commentary. Leaf [superscript pi]a2r: 62 lines; area of text: 249 x 173 mm. (GW gives: 46 bzw 61 Z.) Initial spaces with guide letters. Headline and printed marginalia. With signatures and foliation; without catchwords. Register on leaf N6r.
- Woodcuts: 1 full-page illustration on leaf a1v of Dante (in three different attitudes) wandering in the wood, with Virgil in the foreground and the three wild beasts at right, the whole within an elaborate architectural border (including a representation of God the Father in the tympanum); text of leaf b1r within 4-part ornamental border; 99 smaller square vignettes, each at the head of the canto it illustrates; initials throughout text. Cf. Sander, Essling.

- "A reprint of Capcasa's 1493 Commedia (GW 7971). The Toulouse copy given as a variant of the present edition (Pell 4119A) was apparently merely perfected with fols 11-12 (numbered I-II) of GW 7971"--ISTC.
