Summary:
Tells, in flashback, the story of Suresh Sinha, a famous Indian film director. His marriage to Bina, the daughter of a wealthy parvenue, is wrecked because film directing is a job lacking in social status. Sinha is denied access to his beloved daughter who is sent to a private boarding school. Gossip columns link a beautiful motion picture star with Sinha, and when she withdraws from filmwork Sinha's fortune rapidly declines leaving him forgotten and destitute.
