- Summary:
- Shupp discusses his memories of attending both regular and student Philadelphia Orchestra concerts conducted by Stokowski. He gives his opinions on Stokowski recordings. He describes the period of Stokowski's marriage to Gloria Vanderbilt and remembers attending a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1945 just before going overseas to serve in the Army, including how Stokowski interacted with audience members backstage afterwards. He compares Stokowski to Toscanini, Koussevitzky, and Van Karajan.
