Summary:
Collection of poems by Lord Byron, John Bowdler, Robert Southey, A. Dodsworth and others; with poems by several young people aged 13-17 years; and poems "In memory of my beloved mother," "Home," and "To my father." Several of the poems are elegiac including one on the death of an infant by Eliza Bridges and others on the deaths of Lady Knatchbull and of Princess Amelia.
Notes:
Appears to be written in England, in one hand, that of Kate Smith, whose inscription and the date March 5th, 1810 are on 1v.
Several entries are dated 1810-1816.
No pagination.
Poem by Byron (2 leaves) laid in.
Watermark includes the date 1802.
Binding: Contemporary black paper wrapper, with gilt corner decorations; front cover torn.
