- Summary:
- Chapin discusses how he first met and worked with Stokowski, his work on a recording of a reunion of Stokowski with the Philadelphia Orchestra for Columbia Records (with Howard Scott as recording engineer), the plan for a film of Tristan and Isolde that never materialized, Stokowski's absence from his daughter Sonya's wedding, his acquaintance with Evangeline Johnson Merrill and her daughters, Stokowski's failure with Turandot, Stokowski's Bach transcriptions, and Stokowski's insistence on being involved in the technical aspects of recording.
