- Summary:
- Eugene List discusses his teacher, Olga Samaroff Stokowski, and the years he lived as a student with Maria H. Dehon Polk. He discusses Samaroff's other students Ezra Rachlin, Alexis Wissenberg, Raymond Lewenthal, and Rosalyn Tureck; Samaroff's teaching style, her relationship with Stokowski after their divorce, and their daughter Sonya. He describes playing the First Piano Concerto of Shostakovich at Stokowski's apartment in Philadelphia and in concert.
