Stokowski reminisces about Kreisler, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Paderewski, and Richard Strauss; discusses twentieth-century music and Pablo Casals opinion of it; the Houston Symphony Orchestra and chorus; the Symphony of the Air and Stokowski's introduction of Shostakovich's 11th symphony in New York; and his performance and recording of Respighi's The Pines of Rome. Stokowski discusses his first U.S. performances of Orff's Carmina Burana, Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex, and Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov in the original orchestration; and talks about Texas humor.
