Summary:

Lou Harrison discusses Stokowski's performances and/or recordings of Harrison's compositions including his Canticle No. 3, Suite for Violin, Piano, and small orchestra, and Symphony on G. He discusses Stokowski's transcriptions and interpretations; his approach to auditioning performers; his pioneering the performance of works by Cowell and Riegger; his interest in non-Western music and use of Javanese gongs in his recording of Mussorgsky's Boris Gudunov. He repeats an anecdote about Stokowski from Henry Cowell; mentions meeting Gloria Vanderbilt.

At the end of the recording Bill Colvig briefly describes meeting Stokowski and their discussion on the subject of making new instruments.
