- Five years after the publication of the internationally acclaimed volume of poems, My Night with Frederica Garcia Lorca (in its third printing), Jaime Manrique, called by the Washington Post Book World, "The most accomplished gay Latino writer of his generation", delivers his second volume of poems in a bilingual edition. Tarzan, My Body, Christopher Columbus is three books in one, including work that spans a quarter of a century. Tarzan offers a handful of recent poems written by Manrique in English; My Body was originally published in Spanish in 1999 in Bogota, receiving high praise and becoming one of the most popular books of poems to be published in Colombia in recent years. Christopher Columbus, is an epic poem written in 1979, until now unpublished. Originally written to be published on the 500th anniversary of Columbus' arrival to the New World, this poem will appear now closer to the Quincentenary of Columbus' death in 2006.
