Summary:
Older Adults, Health Information, and the World Wide Web focuses on how age-related changes in vision, cognitive function, and motor skills impact on the delivery and comprehension of Web-based health information, and how the Web may be a viable initial or supplementary source for the delivery of this critical information. Applying knowledge and theoretical frameworks from research in aging, cognition, and human factors design, the book proposes a set of guidelines that may be implemented in order to increase accessibility to health information by older adults and their caregivers on the Web. This book is intended for researchers in aging and cognition, human factors and aging, and health education. It is also appropriate for health care providers, web designers, and anyone who provides care for older adults.
