Notes:
Falsely attributed to St. Augustine. Ascribed by Germain Morin to a 12th century Belgian ecclesiastic. Cf. "La provenance des sermons pseudo-augustiniens 'ad Fratres in eremo,' Revue bénédictine, 1896, p. 346-347.
Consists of 69 sermons followed (leaves O2r-O6v) by several short works, including a sermon by St. Caesarius of Arles and extracts from the chronicles of Bede and St. Antoninus.

"The printing of this edition was wrongly ascribed by Proctor to the Printer of the 1493 Casus breves decretalium."--Walsh.
Signatures: A-M⁸ N-O⁶.
Chancery quarto, printed in double columns. Leaf A3v: 34 lines to a full column, plus headline; area of text: 133 (145) x 92 mm.; col. width: 44 mm. Initial spaces, a few with guide-letters. With signatures; without foliation or catchwords.

Leaf size: 191 x 136 mm.
Rubrication: occasional capital strokes and underlines in faded red ink; otherwise without rubrication.
Penn Libraries copy has a few early ms. marginal notes, marks and manicules in black ink in text; a few ms. marginal marks and notes in red ink in text; two-line ms. inscription in Latin on title leaf; one early ownership inscription on title leaf has been inked over.
Penn Libraries copy bound by Roger de Coverly in full vellum with gold tooled fillet borders and turn-ins; six gold-ruled panels on spine, four with gold tooled fleurons and two with brown morocco labels with author, title and printer (misidentified as Martin Flach) stamped in gold; gilt edges; binder's name stamped on front pastedown.
Presented to the University of Pennsylvania Libraries in 1933 by Dr. A.S.W. Rosenbach through the Friends of the Library.
Penn Libraries copy has a few wormholes in leaves A1 (title leaf)-A3; wormhole near outer margin of leaves A1 (title leaf)-I7.
