- In five parts: the first concerning the divinity of Christ, the second against heretics, the third against Judaism, the fourth against Islam, and the fifth concerning demons. Written by Alphonso de Espina in 1458; originally published in 1487 and frequently republished. Cf. Schaff-Herzog (1969), v. 11, p. 47.

- Median quarto, printed in double columns. Leaf a4r: 45 lines to a full column, plus headline; area of text: 166 (176) x 117 mm.; col. width: 56 mm. Initial spaces, most with guide letters; spaces for paragraph marks. With signatures and foliation; without catchwords.

- Penn Libraries copy imperfect: all before a1, including title leaf and "Tabula", wanting; leaf a1 torn at upper margin with loss of folio number; pastedowns, leaves a1-a5 and M6-M10 lightly wormed with occasional minor damage to text; upper portion of leaves dampstained in first half of book.

- Provenance: From the library of Henry Charles Lea. With his bookplate affixed to front pastedown. Ms. inscription ("V. Conv. Medlingam") in lower margin of leaf a1r.
- Bound in full contemporary pig over bevelled-edge wooden boards; partially illegible ms. inscription including title on upper board; three raised bands on spine; ms. title, imprint and date on spine; small paper label with ms. shelf mark affixed to spine; 2 leather and metal clasps (neither intact) with metal catchplates; vellum leaves with early ms. in brown and red ink used as pastedowns (back pastedown has decorated initial "C" in red and musical notation above text of antiphon "Circumdederunt me gemitus mortis").
- Gathering y misbound in the following order: y1, y3, y2, y4, y5, y7, y6, y8. An early ms. note in the lower margin of leaf y1v points out the error.
- Some ms. marginal marks in pencil or ink and a few ms. marginal notes in text; ms. notes in pencil in Lea's hand in lower margin of leaf t4v and on leaf M9v.
