Summary:
In the summer of 2000, more than 100 traditional artists of Tibetan ancestry gathered in Washington, D.C. for the 34th annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival; the video features glimpses of traditional Tibetan folk arts and performances, with comments from participants and visitors of Tibetan ancestry. Features a visit and speech by the Dalai Lama. Intercut with shots of Tibet and Tibetans in India.
