- Biography/History:
- A noted scholar, author and architect, distinguished for his restoration of colonial buildings, Norman Isham (1864-1943) was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and educated at Brown University. He worked for six years in the Providence architectural firm of Stone, Carpenter & Wilson prior to establishing his own office in 1893. As an author, he collaborated with Albert F. Brown on two books regarded as classics in architecture, Early Rhode Island Houses and Early Connecticut Houses.
