- Summary:
- Papers by students and colleagues of Hagen Kleinert, who is best known for his path-integral solution of the three-dimensional hydrogen atom based on non-holonomic space-time transformation in 1979, report on recent advances in the path-integral description of quantum physics, quantum field theory, variational perturbation theory, phase transitions and critical phenomena, the role of topological defects in phase transitions and in fluctuating strings and membranes, and questions related to gravitation, cosmology, and astrophysics. Specific topics include Vassiliev invariants and functional integration, higher algebraic geometrization emerging from noncommutivity, gauge symmetry and neural networks, and uniformly suitable estimation for thermodynamic values. Material originated at a June 2001 colloquium at the Frie Universitat Berlin. Annotation copyrighted by Book News Inc., Portland, OR.
